Sensational alternative rock bands Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars are bringing their signature sounds to the KeyBank Pavilion!
Muse was formed in Teignmouth (Devon, England) in 1994 by Matt Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals, keyboards) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion). They first called themselves Carnage Mayhem, changed it to Gothic Plague, and changed it again to Rocket Baby Dolls. They took part in a local battle of the bands contest and despite smashing their equipment while performing, they took first place. Matt said in an interview, “It was supposed to be a protest, a statement, so, when we actually won, it was a real shock, a massive shock. After that, we started taking ourselves seriously.” They changed their name to Muse and spent the next few years honing their craft and developing a fan base. While their musical style can be broadly classified as alternative rock, it’s best described as a blend of new prog (a revival of the progressive rock genre, featuring incredibly complex and innovative music that sounds like a heavier, more aggressive version of ’70s behemoths such as Led Zeppelin and King Crimson), hard rock, symphonic rock, space rock, and electronica. They went on to have a stellar career with 7 studio albums, 2 live albums, 1 compilation album, 4 video albums, 40 music videos, 4 extended plays, and 32 singles.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to alternative rock music!
