Farm Aid: Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp & Dave Matthews

16th September 2017 - Saturday 12:00

Farm Aid, the all star concert featuring Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Dave Matthews is is coming to the KeyBank Pavilion!

Farm Aid is an annual benefit concert that was first held on September 22, 1985, in Champaign (Illinois). The aim of the concert is to raise money for family farmers in the country and the first one was organized by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young. The idea for the concert came after the 1985 Live Aid concert at which Bob Dylan said he hoped some of funds raised would go to American farmers in danger of losing their farms due to mortgage debt. Dave Matthews is an American singer-songwriter and musician who is best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band. He formed the band in Charlottesville in 1991 along with singer-songwriter, bassist Stefan Lessard, drummer/backing vocalist Carter Beauford, and saxophonist LeRoi Moore as the founding members. They’ve had a few line-up changes over the years and the band is currently composed of Dave, Carter, Stefan, Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Boyd Tinsley (violin, vocals, mandolin), Tim Reynolds (electric guitar), and Rashawn Ross (trumpet). They’ve had a stellar career with 8 studio albums, 60 live albums, 2 compilation albums, 8 video albums, 2 EPs, 28 singles and 21 music videos.

Don’t miss your chance to see the benefit concert that's been running since 1985!
